Lørdag dro jeg til Château de Chillon. Jeg kom meg faktisk rundt nesten overalt med krykkene mine. Flott slott. Setter kanskje mer pris på det når vi ikke har så mange av dem i Norge...So much of what I've read of fairy tales and books has given me vivid images of different places and times. Then, suddendly, I see a historical place or hear about historical times, and it seems so familiar. The fiction has described reality for me in a way a lexica or the historical building could not de. The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, Norwegian fairy tales, names and places and stories from the past.
So many times I believe that what we think is "only a fairy tale" is closer to the truth than what we like to believe. It seems to fantastic to be true, but they are not from our familiar world. They are from other places, other cultures, other times...This prison cellar is also related to Lord Byron (thanks to Ms Graff and my American British Litterature class for teaching me on his poetry).
Imellom alt forrådet fant jeg "tørrfisk" (dried cod - exported from Norway to Southern Europe). Er ikke så mye som skal til for å føle meg hjemme.

Til ære for eventulle lesere på Berg gård må jeg ta med litt om uten-vann-klosett. Det var en litt annen klasse enn de jeg har sett tidligere. Dette er selve rommet - med to dører - så en risikerer at folk kommer og går...
Dette er selve setet. Det er ganske langt ned - og veggen på "utsiden" er der for at fiender ikke skulle bruke utedoen som et svakt punkt i borgen for angrep...
Ikke verst utsikt fra toalettet??
